  24.             The Medieval and Early Modern Data Bank is a  resource  pro-
  25.             ject  established  at Rutgers University and co-sponsored by
  26.             The Resource Libraries Group, Inc.  Its aim  is  to  provide
  27.             scholars  with  a continually expanding reference library of
  28.             information  concerning  the  medieval  and   early   modern
  29.             periods,   circa   A.D.    800-1800.   Because  MEMDB  is  a
  30.             computer-based, electronic reference tool, it offers remark-
  31.             able  facilities  for  immediate  information  retrieval and
  32.             manipulation.

  34.             In 1993 MEMDB will become available in CD-ROM, available  at
  35.             a  modest charge and with regular updates through Rutgers or
  36.             RLG.  Its master data set will be vastly expanded.   MEMDB's
  37.             scope  will extend to virtually any scholarly compilation of
  38.             data that can be presented in a tabular form.  New  material
  39.             to be incorporated will include information on such subjects
  40.             as wages and prices, household  size,  mortality,  property-
  41.             holdings,  charity,  and  nutrition, drawn from such sources
  42.             as:

  48.                o+  parish records and vital statistics
